Chrysiptera Rollandi is a species of damselfish known by the common name Rolland's Damselfish. These fishes will add color and activity to any saltwater community or reef aquarium.

They have a multi-colored body split down the center consisting of white tail region and a dark/black head region. It is for this reason that Rolland's Damsel is sometime referred to as the Black Cap Damsel. These colors are accented with blue lines and dots scattered across Rolland's Damsel. Some damsels retain the same appearance throughout their entire lives while others undergo a radical color change as they mature from juveniles to adults. A few may get more colorful as adults but most change from very colorful juveniles to bland, more subdued adults. These damselfish are small, reaching only up to 2 1/3 inches (6 cm) in length.

A 30 gallon aquarium or larger with plenty of rockwork and décor is ideal. Because it can tolerate less than ideal water parameters, it is a popular fish among beginning hobbyists.

Maintain this species with other semi-aggressive fish, as they can become territorial as they mature. In larger reef aquariums, this is normally not a problem if plenty of hiding places are provided.

The Rolland's Damselfish are omnivores. Offer meaty foods like mysis shrimp, vitamin-enriched brine shrimp, cyclops, finely shredded frozen seafoods and preparations for omnivores. You can also offer some flakes and other preparations for herbivores.
