Hippolytidae is a family of cleaner shrimp, also known as broken-back shrimp or anemone shrimp.

 

The Big Eye Shrimp or Humpback Prawn is a very small transparent shrimp with thin dark horizontal lines running down the body. It has large eyes for its size and a pointed snout. Big Eye Shrimp are a large brightly coloured reef safe shrimp species

 

The Big Eye Shrimp is a member of the cleaning shrimp and will set up a cleaning station to clean parasites off tank-mates. Provide live rock for shelter.

 

These prawns are usually nocturnal, hiding in sand during the day.

 

Big Eye Shrimp are very resourceful in finding food, but it is necessary to supplement their diet with small food pellets and flakes; also include minced meats. It will accept almost all meaty, flake and tablet foods.
