The White Line Triggerfish (Sufflamen Bursa) is more commonly referred as Boomerang Trigger, Balistes Bursa, Hemibalistes Bursa.
The White Line Trigger has a beige body with two yellowish vertical striations running down near the eyes. The pointed snout protrudes outward from the head. The relatively small mouth gives it a powerful bite. They have sharp teeth and powerful jaws for crushing. A pale grey to brown triggerfish with a scythe-like or crescent-shaped brown to yellow band behind the eye, another through the pectoral-fin base, a white diagonal line behind the mouth, and a white chin and belly. The rear edge of the pelvic flap is black. The fins are a light translucent grey blue color. The Boomerang Triggerfish has the ability to change the color of these stripes from yellow to dark brown dependent on mood. The change is almost instantaneous. It grows to a size of 25cm in length.
It needs a 125 gallon or larger aquarium with rocks and caves.Triggerfish are durable specimens that require large tanks with plenty of live rock. The Boomerang Trigger can re-arrange an entire aquarium, so choosing heavy decorative items is suggested.
This species is highly aggressive and will readily eat smaller fish. It should only be kept with other aggressive fish.
Belligerent triggers will attack all invertebrates and most will try to rearrange live rock. It is best to add triggerfish of the same size and at the same time to prevent skirmishing.
The White Line Trigger fish is a carnivore that can be fed a mixed diet of shrimp, squid, clams, fish, and other meaty fares suitable for carnivores, as well as marine algae and vitamin-enriched herbivore foods.
