The Blue-Lined Sea Bream (Symphorichthys Spilurus) or Sailfin Snapper  is a species of Snapper Fish native to the Indo-Pacific region. 

The Sailfin Snapper has a body which is deep and laterally compressed with a rounded dorsal profile of the head, an angular forehead and a steeply sloped snout. The mouth extends as far back as the anterior edge of the eye.  Its body shows blue undulating stripes over a yellow body, an orange stripe crossing the eye, and another one at the back of the head. It has typically a black spot at its tail. Sailfin Snapper or Blue-Lined Sea Bream is a stately saltwater fish that is beautiful as a juvenile and an adult. 

As a juvenile, its golden color with hints of blue is highlighted by a horizontal stripe running mid-line down the body. The tall dorsal and anal fins often have one or more elongate filaments. Because of its high, flowing fin, aquarium mates must be selected with care. Some other fish may nip at this gentle giant.

Because it does grow large, the Blue-Lined Sea Bream needs ample space to grow – a 200 gallon tank minimum.

Blue-Lined Sea Bream  snapper are carnivores. A diet consisting of various proteins and frozen preparations such as brine shrimp, squid, krill, and chopped fish will maintain optimal health and coloration. Because snappers are active swimmers, multiple smaller feedings per day rather than just one feeding may be more beneficial.
