Bristletooth Tomini Tang (Ctenochaetus Tominiensis), known commonly as the Tomini Surgeonfish among other vernacular names, is a species of marine fish in the family Acanthuridae.

The Tomini Surgeonfish is brown in color with yellow, blue and white highlights when young. When mature, the body color solidifies, the tail becomes blue, and the dorsal and anal fins are tipped with a golden-yellow hue. The area above the eyes has small golden flecks while sporting a golden half circle beneath. The Tomini Surgeonfish is a small size fish and can reach a maximum size of 16 cm length.

A 70 gallon or larger aquarium is necessary to provide plenty of swimming room. This Tang enjoys a variety of rock work and crevices to take refuge, but also should be provided with some open swimming space. Tominiensis tangs are often sought after to add to a reef aquarium for their natural tendency to constantly graze upon algae build up. 

While the Bristletooth Tomini Tang is generally quite peaceful towards most tank mates, they will show serious aggression towards other Tangs or fish they perceive as direct competitors for food. 

Although Tangs will eat meaty foods along with the other fish in the aquarium, it is important that they are offered plenty of marine based seaweed and algae. This will strengthen their immune system, reduce aggression and improve their overall health. Offer dried seaweed tied to a rock or use a veggie clip, and feed at least 3 times per week.
