Earles Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus Earlei) is a species of fairy wrasse. Cirrhilabrus Earlei is commonly referred to as Orange-Striped Fairy Wrasse, Orange-Striped Wrasse. They occur in the Western Central Pacific, Palau and Micronesia.
Earle's Wrasses have a long and slender body that is mostly reddish pink in color with strong darker horizontal stripes. They are pink overall with six magenta lines running down the body and a yellow patch behind the eye, the caudal fin is purple or red. The adult male will be brighter and flashier than its female counterpart.
Earle's Wrasses reach a maximum adult size of around 5 inches and need to be kept in tanks that are at least 90 gallons in size. Earle's Wrasses are strong jumpers and need to be kept in tanks that have a tight fitting lid with no holes large enough for them to jump through if startled.
The ideal setup for the Earl's Fairy Wrasse is an established marine aquarium of at least 200L aquascaped with a generous amount of live rock and plenty of open spaces to swim. The Earl's Fairy Wrasse is considered reef safe and should be housed in aquariums with other peaceful tankmates. A covered aquarium is a must since wrasses are known to be jumpers.
Earle's Wrasses are mostly peaceful fish and might only nip at other fairy wrasses, especially other males. Earle's Wrasses are best kept singularly or in a male / female pair. Two males might be aggressive towards each other. Earle's Wrasses are considered reef safe and shouldn't bother other fish, coral or inverts found in a reef tank.
Earle's Wrasses are carnivores and require a diet that is rich in meaty foods. Foods like mysis and brine shrimp, high quality meaty frozen foods and high quality flake and pellet foods should keep your Earle's Wrasse happy and healthy. Feeding them multiple times a day is recommended since they are very active.
