The Magnificent Foxface (Siganus Magnificus), also known as the Magnificent Rabbitfish or the Andaman Foxface, is a species of marine ray-finned fish, a rabbitfish belonging to the family Siganidae.

The Magnificent Foxface  has an oval compressed body with a relatively elongated snout. The face is white with a distinctive black band. The body is half white and half dark brown to black and each fin is fringed with yellow or red. It is a very hardy fish, and is a great addition to the newly-established tank.

The Magnificent Foxface will grow to be about 10 inches in size and will need substantial swimming space. It may reside in a 125 gallon or larger aquarium. Be sure to provide an environment that has plenty of space to swim and live rock that has algae for grazing.

It is a very peaceful species except when housed with other rabbitfish. The Magnificent Foxface may be housed with more aggressive fish. Its predators will tend to leave it alone because of its venomous dorsal spines. Rabbitfish are generally reef-safe if they are well fed. If not, it is possible for them to nip at and consume some species of LPS and soft corals.

In the wild, the Magnificent Rabbitfish feeds chiefly on algae and small invertebrates. The Magnificent Foxface diet consists of a variety of fresh vegetables and undesirable species of algae. They should accept vitamin enriched flake foods, frozen and live foods.  It does nip and possibly eat some soft and hard coral polyps. Give your fish many small portions throughout the day instead of just one or two big meals.
