The Oreni Tilefish, Hoplolatilus Oreni, is a rare species of marine tilefish found in West Africa, this species is hard to come by in the aquarium trade and boasts beautiful colors and patterns.
Growing to a maximum of 8”, this marine fish displays a blue metallic zigzag line mid-body starting behind the head and ending at the base of the caudal fin. Scattered spots appear above the midline in a broken blue line on a bronze background. It possesses a torpedo-shaped body and has an ethereal presence. These small fish are not as shy as some of the other small gobies and can be seen poking out of burrows or live rock.
A hardy fish, it needs a tank of at least 50 gallons with a tight-fitting lid to prevent escape. It prefers to associate with members of its own species as tank mates and needs a lot of swimming room for its very active lifestyle. These fish are best kept in pairs.
This Dartfish requires a diet containing a variety of marine fish, crustacean flesh, and Mysis shrimp fed two or three times per day.
