The  Curious Wormfish (Gunnellichthys Curiosus) is also referred to as the Rainbow Goby, the Neon Worm Goby, and the Yellow Striped Worm Eel.

Its long slender body is shades of intense red, striking orange and electric blue. When young they are very thin and especially vulnerable to being bullied or eaten. By the time they are fully grown around 5 inches long their body becomes thicker and the fish stronger, however they are still quite thin compared to most fish and should never be kept with large mouthed tank mates, including sleeper gobies, less they be swallowed whole. Males and females are visually identical. 

A tank of at least 30 gallons or larger with a sandy bottom will provide a healthy environment, as this fish tends to bury itself in soft substrate both at night and when startled.  When threatened many dart gobies, with the exception of firefish, may quickly dive under the sand for cover. The aquarium must have a tight fitting lid with no gaps, as Curious Wormfish most often die in captivity from jumping. 

Dart gobies are extremely peaceful and do best with other mild-mannered fish. The Curious Wormfish may be kept as an individual or in small groups, but all need to be introduced to the tank simultaneously and have plenty of swimming room. Its tankmates should be peaceful, as it is easy prey for more aggressive fish.

Gunnelichthys Curiosus are primarily carnivores and their diet should include plenty of high quality meats, seaweed, spirulina and frozen Mysis shrimp. It is preferable to feed at least twice a day and to let some food land on the bottom of the aquarium if the dart goby has not yet earned to eat from the water column. Frozen food is best, however in time they may learn to eat dry foods.
