The Venustus Angel (Centropyge Venustus) also known as Purple Masked Angelfish or Blue-backed Angelfish will make a beautiful addition for your aquarium.
Centropyge Venustus has a blue and yellow colouration. It has bright yellow body, with the purplish/blue triangular patch over the eye, and saddle across the back. This species attains a maximum total length of 12 centimetres (4.7 in).
Purple Masked Angelfish requires a 70 gallon or larger aquarium with large amounts of live rock for hiding as they can be a shy fish.
However, as the Purple Masked Angelfish matures and grows, they may become a bit more assertive to fish with similar size and body shape. Smaller individuals will be model citizens leaving most fish and even other dwarf Angelfish alone. Adults, however, can become belligerent and aggressive toward any Angelfish and tank mates that may share similar coloration or shape. Although typically known as reef safe Purple Masked Angelfish may nip at sessile invertebrates and clam mantles.
The diet of the Venustus Angel should include Spirulina, marine algae, mysis or frozen shrimp, and other meaty items.
Size: Medium: 2" to 3"; Large: 3" to 4"
